Dr. Hedden's research uses innovative multi-modal neuroimaging techniques (structural and functional MRI, diffusion imaging, and PET biomarkers) to improve diagnosis and prediction of the likelihood that older individuals will develop age-related or pathogenic neurodegeneration.

Dr. Hedden is an Assistant Professor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School and the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is an Investigator for the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and the Harvard Aging Brain Study. His research focuses on applying innovative neuroimaging techniques to aging and age-related neurodegenerative disorders. He hosts the Brain Aging Neuroimaging Group seminar series.
Dr. Hedden trained in Cognitive Science (B.A.; University of Virginia), Cognitive Psychology (PhD; University of Michigan), and Cognitive Neuroscience (Postdoctoral Fellow; Stanford University, MIT, and Harvard University) prior to joining Massachusetts General Hospital in 2008.
